The San Estevan Community Library opened its doors in 2008 under the Village Council of Mr. Fidelmar Hernandez. However, the library closed down and was reopened in September 2014 under the Village Council of Mr. Elmer Flores. Ms. Nancy Canche was the first community librarian. She was succeeded by Mrs. Mirian Cansino.
In June 2015 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the San Estevan Community Library to be incorporated into the Belize National Library Service and Information System. From July 2016 to the present, we have been under the umbrella of the B.N.L.S.I.S.
On March 1st,2023 the launch of the Digital Connect Center was made possible through the collaboration of the Government of Belize, the United Nations Development Programme, and Beltraide. The San Estevan Community Library provides a comfortable place for patrons.
The businesses and community contributes to the library's development through donations and tokens for giveaways to patrons.
The San Estevan Community Library has one community librarian. It is located at the San Estevan Community Center.
