The Ladyville Community Library was officially inaugurated on Tuesday, January 16th, 2006, marking a significant milestone in the enhancement of educational and community services within the village. The library is located on the lower flat of the Ladyville Community Center, next to the football field—an ideal location that provides convenient access for students, families, and the wider community.
Its establishment was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Belize National Library Service and Information System (BNLSIS), the Ladyville Village Council, and First Caribbean International Bank. These partners contributed financial and logistical support, recognizing the community’s need for a dedicated space to foster literacy, lifelong learning, and meaningful engagement.
Since its opening, the Ladyville Community Library has served as an essential resource for residents, offering access to books, educational materials, and a range of library services. Over the years, it has continued to evolve to meet the needs of the community, maintaining its role as a welcoming and supportive environment for readers of all ages.
Ms. Verna Young currently serves as the Community Librarian.
